Back in August this year, artist Rachael House curated a community zine project, Agency: Make your Mark, part of Arnolfini’s Moving Targets series. The drop-in workshops, run throughout the month and into September, were open to all and were inspired by the punk-era of the late 1970s when these DIY magazines began to be produced.

The nature of a zine is to make a statement, personal or political, in a self-published, non-glossy magazine, a world away from traditional magazine publishing. By re-introducing this medium as a tool for independent thought and expression in today’s society, Rachael hoped to give a voice to the diverse attendees of her summer workshops. Rachael’s students designed, produced and edited zine’s content.

And here’s the finished product.
