Homelessness is everyone’s responsibility. That’s the resounding message during Bristol City Council’s Homelessness Awareness Week.

Running from 20 – 26 February 2016, the aim of the event, run in partnership with a number of organisations in the city, is to bust the myths surrounding homelessness and make essential services more visible to people who are or at risk of becoming homeless.

According to the council, the number of rough sleepers in Bristol is on the increase and they are hearing from almost 500 people who are struggling with housing issues.

There are lots of related exhibitions, stalls and open door days at homelessness charities and organisations across the city. The week will culminate with a Sleepout on 26 February.
